Our Research Interests

Autoimmunity

We are interested in understanding age-associated and genetic factors of autoimmune diseases using both mouse models and patient samples. Our work is highly translational and aims to have direct relevance to human disease, determining the efficacy of biological inhibitors.

Cancer

Our recent studies have shown that epigenetic regulation by UTX plays an important role in T cell-mediated autoimmunity. We are interested in extending this knowledge to epigenetic regulation of the innate and adaptive immune system in the context of anti-cancer immunity.

Sex Differences

Ongoing work in our lab seeks to understand the biological factors underlying sexual dimorphism in autoimmunity and anti-cancer immunity. We are interested in the contributions of hormones, chromosome complement, and expression of the long non-coding RNA Xist.
